There are two versions of our Interview Skills Programme –
The Full Interview Skills Programme
The Emergency Interview Skills Programme.
The Full Interview Skills Programme
It is for you if you need to have a significant edge over your competitors at your next interview.
It is split over two sessions.
In the first session we interview you for the job in question or one similar to it using the job description and person specification that you will have with you – or if not available – ones that we will supply.
We score you up on an interview evaluation chart and give you immediate feedback on how you have done, noting your strengths and your shortcomings.
We outline to you how to do it better under 9 separate headings. We discuss any queries that you might have and then send you off to practice what is required at home for a week to 10 days – with the comprehensive notes that we supply.
This first session lasts about one and a half hours.
At the end of that practice period you return for the same interview – and if you have done as advised – your second performance will have improved significantly to the point at which you will outperform your competitors on actual day of interview – assuming, of course, that it is on a level playing field.
This second session lasts about an hour.
The first message underlying this programme is that successful Interviewees show skills and knowledge – and communicate those skills and that knowledge – in a way that unsuccessful ones do not.
We have collated these skills and knowledge areas from observing successful interviewees in our work with organisations over the last 30 years and that is what we are passing on to you.
The second message is that to perform successfully at interviews you do not have to lie, to exaggerate or to change your personality – you use what you have in the manner that we advise and you too will make it at interviews in the future.
Successful Interviewees who have taken this programme or The Emergency Programme over the last 20 years include Accountants, Apprentices, Biochemists, Consultants in the HSE, Financial Services Dealers and Traders, Engineers, Fire Officers, Forensic Scientists, Gardai, General Managers, Ex Politicians, Marketing Executives, Teachers, University Heads of Departments, Solicitors, Pilots, Zoologists – interviewee candidates from all levels of responsibility across most sectors of the economy.
The Emergency Interview Skills Programme.
This programme is for you if you are in a hurry; there is an interview coming up within days and you or we do not have the time for the full programme.
In it we combine the two sessions of The Full Programme.
In the first part we interview you for the job in question or one similar to it using the job description and person specification that you will have with you – or if not available – ones that we will supply.
We score you up on an interview evaluation chart and give you immediate feedback on how you have done, noting your strengths and your shortcomings.
We then revisit the questions in the answers to which you were most vulnerable and work on those with you now beginning to use your newfound awareness of what you should be saying and how to say it.
We discuss any queries that you might have; give you a comprehensive set of notes to remind you how and what to practice and then send you on your way to practice at home for the real thing.
